Chris currently lives and works in Eugene, Oregon, with his one wife and two dogs. He received BFA and MFA degrees in Illustration from the University of Arizona in Tucson, with the most recent wrapping in 2005. His graduate degree revolved around creating children's books and other types of sequential narrative; this continues to be the kind of work that he loves to do today.

Chris's first picture book, Sophie and the Next-Door Monsters, came out in 2008 through Walker Books for Young Readers. He plans to have more titles to add to that list soon.
