Adam McHeffey

Since graduating Purchase College in 2010, Adam McHeffey has been telling tales. He loves to come up with crazy characters, give them a story with real heart, and watch them come to life on the paper before him.

Adam first picture book, Asiago, tells the story of a young vampire and his most interesting day at the beach. His latest release, Rudy and Claude Splash Into Art tells the story of curious mouse who wonders, "What is art?," which Adam admits is somewhat autobiographical, as he's always trying to figure out new ways to express himself at the drawing table.

Adam frequently mixes media, layering pen and ink, pastels, colored pencils on top of watercolor. And when he feels like keeping his office a bit more cleaner, he uses a Wacom tablet and Photoshop.

Adam is hard at work on several new stories, and future readers should tread carefully, as their may be a pointy porcupine coming down the road sooner than later. He lives in Nashville, TN, with his wife, Kari.
